Ryanair had to evacuate a flight which was due to take off from Dublin to Billund in Denmark. Gardai and airport police were called in but a search of the plane did not find anything else suspicious. The flight eventually took one and half hours later after it was given the all clear. Gardai has launched an investigation into how the gun cartridge ended up on board the plane.

Wizz Air are starting up a direct flight from Cork to Warsaw. Earlier this year both Aer Lingus and CentralWings dropped their direct Cork to Warsaw routes.
The service will operate twice a week, on Thursday and Sunday. The Thursday service leaves Warsaw at 5.40am and lands in Cork at 7.45am, with the return journey heading out of Ireland at 8.15am and getting back to Poland at 12.15pm.
On Sunday the flight departs Warsaw at 6.40am and gets in to Cork at 8.45am, while the return flights departs at 9.15am and lands in Poland at 1.15pm.

Following clarification from ComReg that the Eurotariff will not apply to mobile calls on airplanes it appears that in-flight calls will be at sky-high fees.
In ComReg’s latest response to the consultation on Mobile Communication Services on Aircraft (MCA), the regulator responded to a query on the tariff which restricts the charges operators can apply for roaming. ComReg said the Eurotariff would not apply for in-flight mobile usage, essentially freeing the way for operators to charge higher fees.
